Who doesn't love a good margarita? Well here's a quick, simple recipe that's sure to make ANY party a margarita party... without breaking the bank! And if you didn't already know... Tequila might just be what the doctor ordered!
Happy National Margarita Day! Not that we really needed an excuse to talk about margs – they’re one of our favorite cocktails, after all.
To celebrate this VERY important national holiday, we’ve come up with a margarita recipe for ya! Warning: it’s dangerously easy, meaning your liver could be at risk.
Here’s whatcha need:
Literally THREE main ingredients
- 2 oz. blanco tequila – the higher quality the alcohol, the better it’ll taste
- 1 oz. lime juice – squeezed fresh, obviously
- 1 oz. Cointreau
- Add salt and ice accordingly
And here’s how it’s done:
The glass preparation is just as – if not MORE – important than the ingredients when it comes to nailing this recipe. Run a lime wedge around the top of your margarita glass before dipping the it in salt.
Making the actual cocktail is just as easy! Pour the tequila, lime juice, and cointreau in a cocktail shaker. Throw in a few cubes of ice and shake ’til it’s chilled, which shouldn’t take more than 20 seconds.
Put fresh ice in your salted margarita glass, and strain the cocktail mixture into it.
AND THAT’S IT!
It’s easy, it’s fast, and it pairs well with some Babalu-inspired guacamole!
