2ND ANNUAL FREAKS OF NATURE BOULDERING COMPETITION Bring on your enormous ape-indexes, tendons of steel, and other freakish climbing super powers and compete in our second annual Freaks of Nature Bouldering Competition! SATURDAY | FEBRUARY 24, 2018 A full detailed schedule and rules will be posted within 1 week prior to the competition 8:30-9:00 AM: Youth Competitors Check-in 9:15 AM: Youth Competitors' meeting 9:30 - 11:30 AM: Youth Redpoint Comp with Awards to follow 11 AM - 2 PM: Captain Muchacho's Food Truck 12:00 - 12:30 PM: Adult Competitors Check-in 12:45 PM: Adult Competitors' meeting 1 PM - 4 PM: Adult Redpoint Comp Finals, After Party, and Awards to follow 4 PM - 8 PM: Beer provided by Elkmont Exchange and Oinks & Cluckers food truck REDPOINT FORMAT • Competitors have unlimited attempts on boulder problems throughout the entire gym during the allotted time • Top 5 highest scoring problems are counted towards the competitor's overall score • Competitors will be rewarded a flash bonus of 10% • Attempts will be denoted, for the sake of breaking ties • • Top 8 Scoring Male + Females will compete in the Finals (There will not be any Finals in the Youth Comp) DIVISIONS • Competitors are divided based on ability (or by Age for Youth) + will compete in one of the following divisions: • Choose a division based on your Redpoint grade - what grade can you complete after several tries? FEMALES Novice: V0-V2 Intermediate: V2-V4 Advanced: V4-V6 Open: V6+ MALES Novice: V0-V3 Intermediate: V3-V5 Advanced: V5-V7 Open: V7+ YOUTH DIVISIONS Youth A: Ages 8 and younger Youth B: Ages 9 to 12 Competitors ages 13 and over are encouraged to compete in the adult comp MASTERS DIVISION In additions to the main divisions, there will be an extra "Masters Division" for ages 40 and older.
