Festival season in Knoxville is in full swing! And here are just a few of the incredible fairs, festivals, and events going on in East Tennessee to help you plan your perfect weekend!

Rhythm n' Blooms Festival

Three nights of great music in the Old City! Our In Tune picks include headliners Booker T Jones, Dr. Dog and DK, The Mowgli’s and Paul Thorn. Make sure to also check out the midnight merry-go-round Saturday, where different artists from the festival cover “one hit wonders.” The music festival ends Sunday with a secret show at Barley’s that you don’t want to miss!

Dragon Lights Chinese Lantern Festival

Dragon Lights Festival brings artisans, silks and culture from across the world to our backyard. About 100 people have traveled from China and constructed the beautiful lanterns over a five week period. Experience the amazing artistry and history of China at Chilhowee Park until April 22nd.

Rossini Festival International Street Fair

The 17th Annual Rossini Festival has been designated a “legacy event” by Mayor Madeline Rogero! Celebrate the performing arts by enjoying 11 consecutive hours of live entertainment on five outdoor stages (opera, jazz, ethnic music, gospel, modern and ethnic dance, ballet, vocal and instrumental ensembles) and the YMCA FunZone while shopping at exhibits of over 100 prominent Artisans and enjoying cuisine from dozens of food vendors.

Chalk Walk

The street painting festival, whose origination as a featured event of Dogwood Arts, draws inspiration from a 16th century Italian happening. Knoxville’s downtown sidewalks transform into a seemingly infinite canvas for the region’s most talented professional and student artists. Dogwood Arts brings this event to Knoxville once again to continue to educate visitors and artists, alike, of this lost art in hopes of keeping it alive for future generations.

Over 25,000 people attend this one-day event, and the winning artists are presented a ribbons and cash awards.

Sidewalk Sideshow

Imagine jugglers, stilt walkers, giant puppets, unicyclists, musicians, marching bands, aerialists, hoopers, and more along Gay Street and the Old City! There’s something around every corner for this wacky afternoon in Downtown Knoxville.

Volapalooza

 

Volapalooza headliners are Blackbear, Zella Day and R. LUM. R. for the one day music fest! Local bands like Peak Physique, Hard Castle and Oddnote are playing too! This concert is open to the public, not just University of Tennessee students.

Dogwood Arts Festival

With quality arts and crafts booths, performing arts, culinary arts demonstrations and tastings, and an expanded children’s creation station, several blocks of downtown Knoxville are transformed into a lively street fair for the Dogwood Arts Festival!

Earth Fest

EarthFest is excited to celebrate Earth Day at the Knoxville Botanical Garden, which offers plenty of green space, views of the mountains and access to public transportation. As always, it’s a free, zero-waste event for the whole family!

Historic Fourth & Gill 28th Anniversary of Homes Tour

Fourth & Gill’s Tour of Homes Committee invites guests to stroll through one of Knoxville’s premier historical districts! The Tour begins at Central United Methodist Church, one of the city’s most beautiful examples of Gothic Revival architecture. Tour guests can take a leisurely walk through the neighborhood to visit homes, or guests can ride a red trolley bus – with a resident tour guide host – from point to point.

Southern Social Festival

This festival celebrates Southern life with topnotch food and chefs from all over the region! Indulge in Tennessee whiskey while trying your hand at a cooking class. You’ll learn everything from frying chicken to making biscuits and cornbread! Proceeds benefit the L5 Foundation!
