UTK Back to School Survival Guide: Campus Game Day Traditions

Tennessee football is all about tradition. Being a UTK student on campus helps you become a part of this infamous game day culture. Take a break from your everyday tailgating and hit up one of these traditional game day activities!

Band March

The Pride of the Southland Band is one of Tennessee’s most prized possessions. One hour and 40 minutes before kick off, the band marches to the stadium in a parade with the majorettes, dance team, cheer team, and Smokey mascots. Listen for Rocky Top and other traditional game day tunes!

Vol Village

Vol Village, located in the Humanities Plaza, hosts game day activities for all ages including food vendors, inflatables, pep rallies, and more! Vol Village festivities start three and a half hours before kick off.

Vol Walk

One of Tennessee’s most loved traditions, the Vol Walk is the football team’s grand entrance into the stadium. Cheer on your favorite players as they exit the buses and walk down Peyton Manning Pass!

Kick Off Call In Show

Broadcasting live from the the Gate 21 Plaza, Bob Kesling and Tim Priest hosts the Kick Off Call In Show an hour and a half before kick off! Fans can call in to the show for a chance to be featured!
