The air is cold, the lights are twinkling and the activity list is full! Here are a few things to enjoy in Knoxville during the holiday season!

Knoxville Weekend made a list and checked it twice to ensure you and your loved ones will have fun this holiday season! Here are 10 events happening around East Tennessee to get you in the spirit of the season!

Christmas at Chilhowee Park

Experience the holidays at one of Knoxville’s oldest historic parks! Take your loved ones out for a night of lights, hay rides and treats. Santa is rumored to be there with hot chocolate!

12th Annual Tour de Lights

On December 14th, the streets of Knoxville shut down for the free bike parade. The 5 mile route stretches from downtown to 4th & Gill and Old North Knoxville. Costumes and lights are encouraged! A costume contest will be held after the cycling event! Cookies and Cocoa will also be on hand during the parade!

"It's a Wonderful Life"

The Tennessee Theatre is screening two showings of “It’s a Wonderful Life” on December 16th. The movie is free, but make sure to get there early! Seating is first come, first serve. Doors open an hour before show time.

Holidays On Ice

Hit the ice in Market Square! The iconic space will transform into an snowy wonderland for the holidays! Each night of the week will have different discounted themes! Be on the lookout for Peppermint Panda, the ice-rink mascot!

Ugly Christmas Sweater 5k

We wanna see all your sparkles, hot glue and jingles at this run! Grab your tackiest holiday sweater and run this 5k in west Knoxville. The after party is at Bearden Beer Market with roasted marshmallows, Christmas movies and other festive treats! ALL proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food for kids!

COST: $25 until November 30th, $35 pre-race

Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas

Spend Christmas with Dolly Parton and the family! Dollywood has transformed into a winter wonderland with beautiful lights and holiday-themed performances! Can we say road trip??

Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland

Pack up the car and head to straight to Shadrack’s for a drive in holiday light show! Afterwards visit Santa’s workshop for free! You can skateboard with elves, practice yoga and hang out with Mr. & Mrs. Claus! Shadrack’s is celebrating their 10th anniversary with lights inside of the Smokies Stadium!!!

COST: cars & family vans $25, half bus & limo $40, school bus  $80

Fantasy of Trees Knoxville

Walk in a winter wonderland to support the kids at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital! The decked out trees are designed and created by volunteers! Check out the beautiful display early at the Fantasy of Trees preview party on November 20th.

COST: $8/adults, $4/children ages 4-12, $75/preview party

Lights & L'Chaim 2018

Dance to Jewish Klezmer music, eat delicious Hanukkah-themed foods and share the joy of the season!! This year’s music lineup is Dor L’Dor, Kelle Jolly & Will Boyd.

Christmas in a Cave

Visit with Santa, but watch out for the Grinch in the underground cavern off Oak Ridge Hwy. Cherokee Cavern will have lights, shopping and delicious treats. Make sure to bring your coat! It gets cold down in the cave!

COST: $10 per person with $1 off for a non-perishable donation

TIME: December 7th – 9th & 14th – 16th
