Lights, Camera, Action! The Knoxville Film Festival is this weekend, September 15-17.
10 of the state's best filmmakers were chosen to share their shorts on the Knoxville silver screen. Each one of these Tennesseans were given 90 days to create a 12-18 minute narrative short with a specific theme, prop, and visual element to include.
Here's the list of locals to watch this weekend! All of the films will screen during film block 7 on Friday at Regal Downtown West Cinema 8. Movies start at 7pm in theaters 1 and 2.
I Am The Sparrow
Edy Recendez created “I Am The Sparrow,” the tale of an impersonating Superhero.
A man on a journey of self discovery after he finds out his wife cheated on him, filmed by Brian Perry.
Game of Life
Cody Rogers’ “Game of Life” shows an alternative universe where everyone’s life is controlled like a game. The two main characters are dealt a bad hand.
Hell Followed With Him
A mafia hitman forced to confront his past and the hell that comes with it. Filmed by Jeremy Lowery.
A young father with an untimely disease lives out his final days with love and intention. Tyler Hays created “Whipporwill.”
Chad Cunningham’s, “The Order”, follows three young scouts struggle to prove themselves as they realize nothing is what it seems.
I Just Want To Be A Hero
After the arrival of an unexpected visitor, two brothers decide to run away. Created by Stephen Ballast.
Out Of The Ground
Barrett Burgin’s, “Out Of The Ground” shares the story of two scientists trying to regenerate human life. The machine they build makes their daughter sick. Now they’re faced with the choice of saving their daughter or the fate of the world.
Jamison Stalsworth revisits the true story of George Stinney Jr., a boy sentenced to death at age 14, in “The Current.”
Matt Brewster’s “Self Control” is the story of a man who attempts to date his office crush.
