KDUB’s Favorite Sports Bars

Football season is here, y’all! While you’ll always find us at Neyland when our boys play at home, we do like to get our fix of NFL and other collegiate games. Here are our top picks for the best sports bars in the area to catch a game on the big screen!

Carolina Ale House

There’s a decent sized crowd at Carolina Ale House on any given night, but this place is packed once football season rolls around. People come here for the vibes, the food, and the beer. If you want to watch Sunday football here, arrive early so you can find a seat – this place fills up fast. Each room has a variety of TVs on different walls, so you don’t have to worry about strategically sitting at a specific place at the table.

The nachos and fried pickles are great appetizer options here. If you want something with a little more substance, Carolina Ale House also serves a mean burger!

Fieldhouse Social

Amidst the college bars on the strip is what I’m calling the mother of all Knoxville sports bars: Fieldhouse Social. You’ll find several TVs around the bar, along with a large projector that takes up an entire wall. Take a seat on one of the comfy couches facing the wall, and cheer on! The bar is close to UT, making it a favorite for college students. If that’s your scene too, give it a go.

While you’re here, opt for the Smoked Pork Shoulder Nachos or the Bacon & Egg Burger. Or, if you’re like me, just order both!

Double Dogs

When I first heard about Double Dogs, I assumed the best thing about the place was their hot dogs, because of the name double DOGs. But I was wrong.
You come to Double Dogs because you can count on quality wings, pizza, and high-energy sports fans every day of the week!

If you go for the wings, try their house sauce – it’s their signature sauce for a reason. All the pizzas here are cooked to perfection in a brick oven. And – if you have room – order a side of their fries. They’re amazing.

Double Dogs can get pretty loud, so if there’s someone in your group who can be rowdy (or borderline obnoxious), this is the best place to go. This is the kind of place to bring your 18-year-old brother to, without worrying about him embarrassing you with his trash talk. Between the volume of the TVs and some of the fans, he’ll fit right in.

Cazzy's Corner Grill Knoxville

Cazzy's Corner Grill

Whoever thinks watching a sports game can’t be a good date idea, has never made it out to Cazzy’s. It’s a bit of a drive from the heart of Knoxville, but it’s a great spot to catch a game – especially if you’re not the screaming-at-the-TV type. Cazzy’s has several TVs aligning the walls above the bar. The set-up is okay, but I promise you their food will blow you (and your hot date) away.

Cazzy’s has all the food you’d expect at a sports bar…and more. If I’m not scarfing down their tatter tots and Black and Bleu Burger, I pretend like I’m healthy and go for the fresh grilled salmon with kale. If you plan on watching some Sunday Football, come during brunch hours (10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) for their special brunch menu.

There is always a full bar and some classy cocktails. Cazzy’s is a little on the pricey side, but I think you get what you pay for when you come here!
