Built in 1928, the Tennessee Theatre was designed as a motion picture palace by two men from Chicago which showed movies every single night! It closed in 1977, but live shows began in the early 1980's. After a major renovation was completed in 2005, the theatre expanded its [stage] wings and is not only an important amenity for downtown Knoxville, but it's a #KDUB fav!
