WINTER NIGHTS AT ZOO KNOXVILLE
Zoo Knoxville celebrates the magic of the season with a special after-hours holiday event. Winter Nights will take place Thursday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. each evening. Guests can share their Christmas wishes by writing a letter to the North Pole and pose for photos with Santa Claus in the magical, Christmas-tree-filled Santa’s Village. The holiday festivities also include carolers and the chance to meet beloved winter characters Elsa and Anna Tickets are $10 for ages 4 & up and $8 for zoo members.
ROCKIN' SANTA HALF MARATHON & SUNSHINE SANTA 5K
Get into the holiday spirit with either a half marathon or 5K run this Saturday from 9am – 1pm at Victor Ashe Park. Events benefit the Sunshine Ambassadors – Enriching the lives of people with disabilities through dance! Christmas Rock-n-Roll music will abound from Victor Ashe Park and along the routes!
HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE AT ETHS
Cookies and apple cider will warm the day at the East Tennessee Historical Society’s Holiday Open House this Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Activities include local authors, storytelling, shop discounts, sale of handmade items, free ornament and craft making for the kids, and holiday refreshments. Holiday and traditional musical performances by the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club will help get you in the Christmas spirit. Also do some holiday shopping in the ETHS Museum Store with a 10% discount on a great selection of traditional gifts, history books, and children’s items.
TOUR DE LIGHTS
The 13th Annual Tour De Lights presented by Visit Knoxville and Bike Walk Knoxville; a fun, free, family friendly bike ride through downtown and North Knoxville this Saturday at 5:30pm. Participants are encouraged to get in the holiday spirit by decorating themselves and their bikes, while trying to win coveted awards. The event engages neighborhoods and businesses, along with others who come out to view the festivities.
SANTA CON 2019
Join the fun on Saturday, December 14th from 9pm – 2am in the Old City for a convention of Santas and their many Helpers – come dressed as Santa, Elves, Reindeer, or any of your holiday favorites!
