Dessert is one of our FAVORITE things and when it's on a grill, it's even better! This quick and simple dish using fresh peaches and buttery pound cake is sure to please anyone who comes to your table.
Grilled Peaches and Pound Cake with Orange Syrup
- 4 Peaches, halved and pitted
- Vegetable oil
- Premade pound cake, sliced into 2 inch thick slices
- 4 tablespoon butter, melted
- ½ cup water
- ¼ orange juice
- ¼ sugar
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush grates with vegetable oil.
Lightly oil the cut side of the peach, and place on grill for 3 minutes. Rotate 90 degrees and grill an additional 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Add water, orange juice, and sugar to an aluminum pan on the grill and stir until sugar is mixed. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, for 5-6 minutes until syrup forms.
While syrup is cooking, lightly butter both sides of the pound cake, and place on grill. Cook about 2 minutes, then rotate 90 degrees and cook an additional 1 minute. Turn and repeat. Remove from heat.
Place peaches on pound cake and drizzle with syrup.
Pro Tip: Use peaches that are slightly under ripe. They’ll soften as they cook but won’t fall apart!
