Will It Grill Season 2 – Grilled Meatloaf Sandwiches

Be creative with grilling and make good use of those leftovers! These meatloaf sandwiches are the perfect way to make sure nothing goes to waste.

INGREDIENTS

  • Leftover meatloaf (recipe from DeSocio in the Kitchen), refrigerated
  • Thick-cut bread (two slices per slice of meatloaf)
  • Butter
  • Tomato, sliced
  • Chili sauce
  • Sharp cheddar cheese slices

DIRECTIONS

Preheat grill to medium-low heat, about 350 degrees, and oil grates

Slice meatloaf into 1-ince slices, and place directly on grates. Brush with chili sauce. Grill approximately 3-5 minutes per side, turning once, brushing each side with sauce. Top with sliced cheese and grill 3-5 minutes on second side. Remove from heat.

Place a grill mat on the grates. Brush one side of bread with butter, and place butter-side down on grill mat. Place a slice of meatloaf on the bread, add sliced tomato, and top with second slice of bread, butter side up. Grill 2-3 minutes or until golden and grill marks form.

Using a spatula, flip sandwiches over and grill and additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.
